Writing is like art.  The mosaic the artist creates is not always a thing pleasing to the eye.  But to the artist, it is the expression, their expression that counts.  Even art I don't like, I still appreciate the expression.  You have to admire someone for having the guts to do it.

Never hold back your stories because you are afraid you will 'ruin' it.  It is your story and regardless of other opinions, the only opinion that counts, in the yours.  :D

I'd love to see your write more...and I like your 'art.'

It is well written.  You raise the dilemma I think any one would have being with an identical twin: would their sibling be like them?  Right away, you have your reader pulling for Benji.  But you don't give away the ace in the hole and lead us down the primrose path, thinking Ione will cheat with Joel.  I half expected Joel to stop it and was disappointed in his lack of integrity yet equally surprised by Ione's decision.

There should be a sequel in which Benji finds out.  His scars can be seen and touched, but Ione's scars are within.  Something like this, even though she did not go all the way, will scar the inside.  Joel too.

Very thought provoking piece and I enjoyed it!  Welcome back from your hiatus and hope to read more from you!

Author's Response: Aww thanks so much! I've had this idea for years. It was inspired by my ex. I took the scars right from him. I was so afraid to write it down necaus I thought I would ruin it.
